Overview
Brightshores, a reputable healthcare organization, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in the Day Surgery and PACU department.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting health, assessing patients' needs, and providing high-quality care to adults and children during Phase I and II recovery.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, applicants must possess:
- Ontario College of Nurses registration or eligibility
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in PACU and acute care nursing within the past 5 years
- Broad surgical experience in all subspecialties
- Successful completion of Post Anaesthetic Course within the last 3 years
- Physical Assessment Course or equivalent
- Coronary Care Certificate I or equivalent
- Current certification in BCLS, Venipuncture, IV meds below the drip chamber, PCA, and Epidural analgesia
- Demonstrated computer skills in MS Outlook and Cerner applications (Powerchart and Surginet)
- Excellent assessment skills, communication and collaboration skills, leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development and continuing education
- Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision
- Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records
Preferred Qualifications
- Baccalaureate degree in nursing
- ACLS
- Care of CVP, endotracheal tubes/ventilated extubation of an endotracheal tube
Compensation
We offer a competitive salary range of $39.07 - $56.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
