Job Summary:

LifeLabs is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Specialist to join our team in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. As a key member of our Mid Low Chemistry team, you will be responsible for conducting a wide range of diagnostic and interpretive specimen testing, ensuring the confidentiality of patient information, and contributing to patient well-being and better health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting diagnostic and interpretive specimen testing, including performing, interpreting, and releasing results.
  • Ensuring the confidentiality of patient information and maintaining the highest standards of safety, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Identifying incidents and non-conformities, participating in the development of effective corrective action plans, and escalating as appropriate.
  • Assisting with the evaluation and implementation of new technology to improve laboratory processes.
  • Participating in problem-solving and workflow optimization initiatives to drive continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • College diploma or University degree in Medical Laboratory Science, or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • Excellent communication skills to enable effective collaboration with a wide variety of people.
  • Good computer skills and knowledge to support laboratory operations.
  • Problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify and follow-up on issues.
  • Ability to maintain the strictest standards of safety, patient privacy, and confidentiality.
