We are seeking a dedicated and collaborative Family Practitioner to join our team at the Victoria Primary Care Network. The successful candidate will provide full-service primary care to patients from the federal newcomers to Canada program, including federally-mandated Health Assessments.
About the RoleThis is a 1.0 FTE position that can be shared by one or more individuals. The Family Practitioner will work collaboratively with a Primary Care Network team, including Mental Health Workers and Pharmacists, to provide trauma-informed and culturally-safe care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide primary care services to patients from the federal newcomers to Canada program
- Conduct federally-mandated Health Assessments
- Work collaboratively with the Island Health Refugee/Newcomer NP at the Health Care on Yates Clinic
- Participate in team-based care with Nursing, Nurse Practitioners, and Allied Health Professionals
- Dedicated, hard-working, and collaborative physician
- Ability to work as a team with Nursing, Nurse Practitioners, and Allied Health Professionals
- Shared philosophy of trauma-informed, culturally-safe care essential
- Interest in innovation in primary care and working part-time/shared position
