Financial Expertise Sought for The Drake

The Drake, a renowned hospitality brand, is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join its Finance team. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Assist with accounts payable/receivable processes to maintain a smooth financial workflow
  • Process daily revenue journals to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliation to ensure financial stability and accuracy
  • Assist with month-end closing procedures to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Assist with financial statement preparations to provide stakeholders with accurate and timely financial information
  • Perform general administrative tasks to support the Finance team and ensure efficient operations
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects and analysis to provide valuable insights and recommendations
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the hospitality industry
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience with Sage 300 (ACCPAC) and Opera is an asset but not necessary
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner
