Peterborough Victoria Northumberland and Clarington Catholic DSB is seeking a dedicated Educational Support Professional to join our team. This long-term assignment offers a competitive salary of $55,000 per year.

Job Description

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about supporting students with diverse needs. As an Educational Support Professional, you will play a crucial role in helping students access instructional programs, assist with personal and hygienic care, administer medication, and participate in therapeutic, behavioral management, or training programs.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the development, implementation, and tracking of instructional programs.
  • Preparing instructional materials and equipment as directed.
  • Supporting students with hygienic and personal care, such as toileting, catheterizing, and life skills.
  • Administering medication in accordance with Board Policy and Administration Regulations.
  • Participating in occupational, physio, speech, and other therapy or behavioral programs.
  • Carrying out Individual Education Plan (I.E.P.) and Co-op Education, job training, safety programs, etc., as assigned.
  • Supervising in-school and out-of-school student activities.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A combination of education and experience, including a minimum of two years of specialized training in areas such as Educational Assistant Program, Child Youth Worker, Autism Support Worker, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of strategies and experience supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Familiarity with pertinent Board policies and directives, such as Physical Intervention, Discipline, Administration of Medication and/or Special Services.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work co-operatively with students, teachers, administration, Board personnel, parents, community agencies, and organizations.
