Job Title: ECEs, ECE Assistants or Responsible Adults

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team at the?aq?amnik? Daycare Centre. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing quality childcare and education to children aged 1-5 years.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with or provide quality childcare, including planning and carrying out developmentally and age-appropriate educational activities.
  • Help children complete daily tasks and routines to gain independence and provide constant feedback and communication to build self-esteem.
  • Function as a member of our cohesive, positive, flexible, and exuberant team, which includes staff, management, parents, and community members.

Requirements:

  • Early Childhood Educators:
    • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certification and licence to practice.
    • Doctor's medical clearance letter.
    • Up-to-date immunization record.
    • First Aid Certificate.
    • Vulnerable Sector Check Criminal Record Check.
  • ECE Assistants:
    • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Assistant Certification and licence to practice.
    • Doctor's medical clearance letter.
    • Up-to-date immunization record.
    • First Aid Certificate.
    • Vulnerable Sector Check Criminal Record Check.
  • Responsible Adults:
    • At least 19 years of age.
    • Able to provide care and mature guidance to children.
    • Have completed a course, or a combination of courses, of at least 20 hours duration in child development, guidance, health, and safety, or nutrition, or willing to take this training.
    • Have relevant work experience.
    • Vulnerable Sector Check Criminal Record Check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in a First Nation community.
  • Food Safe certification.
