The Role
The Faculty of Commerce & Business Administration at Douglas College is seeking a highly qualified Business Law instructor to join our team on a probationary basis. As a Regular Probationary Faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching students, facilitating learning, and evaluating student progress in College courses.
Responsibilities
- Instruct students in Business Law courses, including Introductory Business Law (BLAW 1320) and other related courses.
- Plan, organize, and manage learning activities and resources to ensure a high-quality learning experience.
- Provide academic advice to learners and maintain a learner-centered approach to instruction.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Hold a LLB or JD degree from a recognized institution.
- Have a combination of three years working experience and/or teaching experience relating to business law (Stream 'A' applicants) or five years working experience and/or teaching experience relating to business law (Stream 'B' applicants).
- Be a member of the Law Society of BC.
- Demonstrate a high level of legal knowledge and excellent ability to teach business law topics at the post-secondary level.
- Work cooperatively with colleagues in a team environment and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.
- Have working knowledge of computer applications and educational technologies.
