Job Title: Air Canada Data Analytics Leader

Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled Data Analytics Leader to join our team at Air Canada. As a key member of our data management team, you will be responsible for leading database administration activities, implementing Snowflake best practices, and developing reports for executive leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Database Administration: Lead database administration activities linked to data management and governance, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of data within our data warehouse and big data environment.
  • Implement Snowflake Best Practices: Implement and review Snowflake best practices for management, monitoring, and optimization, ensuring our data systems are efficient and effective.
  • Develop Reports: Develop reports for executive leadership that effectively communicate trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data, providing valuable insights for our business.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Collaborate with programmers, data engineers, and organizational leaders to identify opportunities for process improvements, recommend system modifications, and contribute to policies for data governance.
  • Design and Maintain Data Systems: Design and maintain data systems, including fixing coding errors and other data-related problems, ensuring our data systems are reliable and efficient.
  • Use Statistical Tools: Use statistical tools to interpret data sets, paying particular attention to trends and patterns that could be valuable for diagnostic and predictive analytics efforts.

Qualifications

  • 9-12 Years of IT Technology Experience: 9-12 years of IT technology, operations, and people leadership experience in a large company.
  • Advanced SQL and ETL Experience: Advanced SQL, ETL data warehouse, and big data experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, business intelligence, or a related discipline.
  • Airline Data Management Experience: 5+ years of airline data management experience.
  • Database Administration Experience: 5+ years of database administration experience.
  • Snowflake Experience: 2+ years of experience with Snowflake.
  • Data Governance Knowledge: Strong knowledge of data quality management and best practices, as well as working knowledge of data governance processes and SDLC.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent communication, research, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to be highly productive and efficient in a team-driven environment.

Estimated Salary Range: $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Linguistic Requirements: Based on equal qualifications, preference will be given to bilingual candidates.
