Job Title: Community Housing Team Lead

WoodGreen is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Community Housing Team Lead to join our Housing & Homelessness Services team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a team of staff responsible for initial tenant intake, lease administration, rent collection, and unit turnover management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of staff in the initial tenant intake process, including background checks, generating leases, and orienting new residents to organizational policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for the showing of units to potential tenants and providing information to tenants that impacts their housing.
  • Works in collaboration with referring parties to manage intake of new clients and minimize vacancy loss.
  • Responsible for collection of monthly rents from tenants and following up on all arrears.
  • Assists with the monitoring and completion of Annual Rent Reviews amongst the team and following up so they are completed in a timely fashion.
  • Supports team members with complex Annual Rent Review and Periodic Rental Calculations.
  • Prepares reports on rental arrears and supports team members with complex cases and proposes strategies to bring the case to resolution.
  • Ensures staff are accurately updating Insite with all relevant information pertaining to tenancy issues.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Social Work or related undergraduate degree.
  • Minimum 2-3 years direct experience in social services with supporting individuals who have a history of street involvement and/or individuals with low income.
  • In-depth knowledge of rent calculations and annual review procedures.
  • Previous property management experience including lease administration, rent collection, and unit turnover management.
  • Excellent understanding of the Residential Tenancies Act, Housing Services Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, and other related legislation.
