Job Summary

ESPN is seeking a highly skilled Senior Photo Editor to lead our Visual Storytelling team. As a key member of our editorial team, you will be responsible for driving our live ESPN news coverage and journalism.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in photo editing, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure to deliver high-quality visual content.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead live news coverage efforts for ESPN.com and the ESPN app, working closely with editorial and audience engagement teams.
  • Develop and implement visual content strategies to enhance existing ESPN content and meet audience engagement goals.
  • Exercise sound editorial judgment and situational awareness to meet tight deadlines, drawing on extensive past experience.
  • Collaborate with sports journalists and editors to develop compelling visual stories that resonate with our audience.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in sports photography, photo editing, and news storytelling.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in journalism or a related field.
  • Experience working in the live news cycle alongside editorial partners.
  • Understanding of copyright laws and photo licensing standards.
  • Fluent in Adobe Photoshop, Photo Mechanic, and other standard photo editing tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Expert-level knowledge of wire services, agencies, and non-traditional image sources.
  • Strong organizational skills to set effective workflows and routines.
  • Well-versed in content management and project management systems.
Additional Information

This is a remote position that requires night and weekend shifts. The hiring range for this position is $82,742 to $124,410 per year, which factors in various geographic regions.
