This role involves providing overall mechanical engineering support to project teams from conceptual design through to detailed engineering, construction support, and project commissioning and start-up.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Mechanical Engineering or Applied Science and 6-12 years of relevant work experience.

They will be registered as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) or Engineer-In-Training (EIT) with EGBC and have experience in mechanical equipment design and material selection.

The successful candidate will also have good problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team.

Salary: $75,000-$105,000 per annum based on skills and experience.

In this role, you will:

  • Prepare conceptual designs and assist in the development of preliminary studies by providing expertise on mechanical equipment and materials selection;
  • Provide expertise and recommendations on static and rotating equipment design;
  • Develop and manage the master equipment list;
  • Develop mechanical equipment data sheets;
  • Perform technical bid evaluations and provide award recommendations for vendor-supplied equipment;
  • Act as primary technical contact for vendor-supplied equipment including client support and vendor management;
  • Review design documents for vendor-supplied equipment to ensure compliance with legislative requirements and project specifications;
  • Participate in project planning through the development of project schedules and person hour forecasts/budgets;
  • Assist in the development of overall project cost estimates;

You will enjoy a 37.5-hour work week with Fridays being Work From Home (WFH) and half days.
