Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Clinical Counsellor to join our multidisciplinary team. As a key member of our clinical team, you will be responsible for providing individual and group therapy sessions, conducting assessments, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual trauma therapy utilizing Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and/or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
  • Conduct efficient and effective clinical client assessments (mental health history, risk assessment, trauma, and addictions).
  • Facilitate psychoeducation groups (based on ACT, sleep education, DBT skills, mindfulness, and family support).
  • Provide resource-based interventions, case management and coordination, transition, or discharge planning.
  • Assist in grounding and reflection post-psychopharmacological treatment.
  • Completion of client intake assessment and documentation.
  • Demonstrate expertise and skills to support clients presenting with:
    • Post-traumatic stress disorder
    • Psychological injury
    • Addiction
    • Depression
    • Anxiety
    • Other mental health diagnoses
Requirements
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Registered Clinical Counsellor is required.
  • 2+ years of experience in mental health assessment/triage and treatment is a strong asset.
  • 2+ years of experience treating complex PTSD is an asset.
  • 2+ utilizing EMDR or ART for treatment of PTSD.
  • Experience treating addiction is a strong asset.
  • Experience with individual, group, and family counselling is an asset.
  • Equivalences of experience may be considered.
  • A master's degree in Counselling or related field is required.
  • An active registration with British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCCSW) is required.
  • Professional liability insurance is required.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams is required.
  • Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is required.
  • Experience with TELUS Med Access EMR is an asset.
