Job Summary:

Birch Mountain Enterprises LP is seeking an experienced Class 1 Operator to join our team. As a Class 1 Operator, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of heavy equipment, including semi-vac, combo-vac, water, and vacuum units.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform daily documentation, including logbooks, customer work orders, and field-level risk assessments.
  • Follow instructions from dispatch or supervisors.
  • Complete daily housekeeping of assigned equipment to maintain company image.
  • Attend daily toolbox and safety meetings.
  • Maintain and operate all company tools and equipment to required standards.
  • Ensure all training is up-to-date.
  • Follow TDG and WHMIS standards and regulations.
  • Seek out continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Provide customer-focused services.
Requirements:
  • Valid Class 1 driver's license with clean driver's abstract.
  • Minimum 3 years experience operating manual Class 1 equipment.
  • Previous experience operating semi-vac, water, vacuum, hydro, or combo-vac units, fluid transfer.
  • Mine drive experience is an asset.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • OSSA (or BSO/CSO) and CSTS certification.
  • Certification in Transportation of Dangerous Goods, Daily Trip Inspections, Provincial Hours of Service for Alberta, Weights and Dimensions, Cargo Securement for flatbeds, WHMIS, and H2S Alive.
  • Must successfully pass BME driver's evaluation, D&A, and fit for duty pre-employment screening.
