Position Summary

The Lifeguard will be responsible for maintaining a safe and clean pool environment, enforcing pool regulations, and providing exceptional guest service. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure the well-being of our guests and team members by being alert to and reporting potential hazards
• Develop and implement effective problem-solving strategies
• Enforce pool regulations and policies, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pool area, including equipment and facilities
• Respond to and report emergency situations, providing first aid and assistance as needed
• Model Deerhurst Resort standards, demonstrating a commitment to exceptional guest service and teamwork
• Complete all other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

• Previous experience as a lifeguard is an asset
• Must be at least 16 years of age
• First Aid, CPR, and AED certification required
• Bronze Cross and L.S. Certificate preferred
• Boaters license is an asset

• Is self-motivated, with a high level of enthusiasm
• Able to adapt in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment within a dynamic work schedule
• Able to maintain composure and objectivity
• Able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
• Is flexible with their schedule, able to work long hours, shift work, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business levels require
