Job Title: Early Childhood Educator Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Early Childhood Educator Assistant to join our team at Kidz in the Rockies Ltd. As an Early Childhood Educator Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our childcare programs and ensuring the well-being and development of our young children.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers, promoting their physical and emotional development.
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that support the cognitive, emotional, and social development of children, fostering a nurturing environment.
  • Supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers, promoting teamwork and collaboration.
  • Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest, encouraging creativity and exploration.
  • Order supplies and equipment, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for children.
  • Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records, maintaining accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Encourage children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity, promoting their overall development.
  • Engage children in activities, promoting socialization and learning.
  • Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods, maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems, preparing reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
  • Submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors, maintaining open communication.
  • Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings, promoting collaboration and problem-solving.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children, fostering a supportive environment.
  • Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children, adhering to licensing regulations.
  • Plan and organize activities for school-age children in childcare programs before and after regular school hours, promoting their development and well-being.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants, promoting teamwork and collaboration.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • Punctuality, dependability, excellent written communication, flexibility, reliability, and a team player attitude.
