Full-time Firefighter

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Firefighter to join our team at the County of Grande Prairie No. 1. As a Firefighter, you will play a critical role in providing emergency response services to our community.

• Operate as a member of a high-performing team to respond to emergency situations and provide fire services.
• Participate in regular training and drills to maintain operational readiness and proficiency.
• Conduct fire safety inspections and provide education to the public on fire prevention and safety.
• Collaborate with other emergency services agencies to ensure effective response and coordination.
• Perform administrative tasks, such as maintaining equipment and records, as required.

• National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1001 level 1 and 2 IFSAC and/or ProBoard Certification.
• NFPA 472/1072 Dangerous Goods Operations Level IFSAC and/or ProBoard Certification.
• Class 3 operator's license with air brakes.
• Valid Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), Medical First Responder (MFR), Advanced First Aid (AFA), or higher with valid Level C CPR.
• Incident Command System 100 Certificate.
• History of a safe driving record.
• Possess a Grade 12 education.
• Pass RCMP Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
• Pass a medical assessment with a County Regional Fire Service approved physician and undergo a psychological assessment with a County Regional Fire Service approved psychologist.
