Job Title: Residential Architectural Technologist

We are seeking a skilled Residential Architectural Technologist to join our team in Calgary, Alberta. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating and revising architectural designs, working drawings, and details for residential construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with clients and team members to develop and prepare designs and working drawing packages
  • Apply for, monitor, and process architectural approvals and building permits
  • Perform site inspections of new designs
  • Complete sets of drawings, architectural site plans, elevations, foundations, floor plans, sections, and details
  • Adjust grades as per the provided plot plan, ensuring everything works properly
  • Submit for Architectural Approval and make necessary changes upon review
  • Assist project managers and project teams with pre-qualification and tender submission packages
  • Coordinate drawings with all consultants
  • Ensure drawing files and folders are kept up-to-date and organized for easy retrieval
  • Take care of lot inspections as required for architectural approvals
  • Provide ongoing suggestions for improvement, coinciding with continual learning and industry knowledge
  • Work collaboratively with teams and subconsultants
Requirements:
  • Educational background in Drafting or Architectural Technology
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in the residential construction industry - drafting homes/architectural drawing packages
  • Experienced using Revit and AutoCAD
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • Ongoing learning of overall industry, including building materials, construction methods, and standards
  • Knowledge of building code an asset
