About the Role

This position plays a vital role in assessing and managing risk for group life, disability, health, dental, and critical illness benefits. You will be responsible for renewing existing business, providing pricing and advice on plan change requests, and assessing new business opportunities. This involves working closely with our sales team to meet sales and profitability objectives as well as client needs.

The ideal candidate will have excellent numerical and analytical skills, a thoughtful approach to decision making, and the ability to balance profit against growth. They will also be able to negotiate and make decisive timely decisions, work independently, and have excellent interpersonal skills and strong cross-functional team skills.

Responsibilities include completing renewals, quotations, and responding to client requests within service standards, developing a strong understanding of our products and services, underwriting guidelines, systems, and tools, pricing methodologies, and the marketplace. You will also assess risk and determine the price, financial, and contractual conditions of Sun Life's Group Benefits offering for each Plan Sponsor.

The successful candidate will strive to meet client needs, including providing insight and creative solutions to help solve client issues around risk and cost of their group benefits plan. They will build strong relationships with our sales people, working in partnership with them to sell renewals and quotations, and work with our sales people to ensure a clear understanding of our clients, their needs, and their respective risk profiles.
