Lead Shop Service Technician Opportunity

Spartan Staffing Solutions is partnering with a National Heavy Equipment company to find a skilled Lead Shop Service Technician to join their team in Mississauga, ON.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assign jobs and work areas to Service Department employees based on their skills and knowledge.
  • Assist in the appraisal of repair orders and participate in repairs, reviewing orders for accuracy and completeness.
  • Direct and assist technicians and apprentices in diagnosing machine problems.
  • Inspect and repair special tools, recommending new tooling as needed.
  • Advise the Shop Foreman or Service Manager of customer complaints.
  • Assist with coordinating and conducting quarterly safety meetings.
  • May fill the Shop Foreman's role in their absence.
  • May arrange for and participate in reconditioning used equipment and setting up new equipment.
  • May approve the release of equipment for delivery to customers.
  • May assist in providing performance feedback for service technicians and staff to the Service Manager.
Requirements:
  • Ability to work multiple shift patterns.
  • Ability to lead others.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to groups.
  • Ability to use standard desktop applications.
  • 5+ years' experience as a heavy-duty service technician.
  • 421A Red Seal certificate required.
  • Class 1 driver's license considered an asset.
  • Forklift license preferred.
  • Availability to work Second Shift (12pm to 10:30pm).
