About the Role

We are seeking a Casual Education Assistant to provide support to students in various classrooms. As a member of our team, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure students receive the best possible education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct educational support to students in various classrooms
  • Support students through direct supervision in a variety of settings
  • Assist students with adaptive skills
  • Prepare adapted and modified educational materials
  • Provide personal care assistance, including lifting, feeding, toileting, etc.
  • Work with students who have a delegated care plan through Nursing Support Services
Requirements
  • Grade 12 graduation
  • Education Assistant certificate or diploma from a recognized college, 2-year diploma preferred
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training
  • Special education/child care related experience
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with staff, students, and the community
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
Working Conditions

Shifts range from 4-6 hours per day, while school is in session. The successful candidate will be required to consent to a Criminal Records Search prior to employment.
