Job Summary:

The Shipper-Receiver will be responsible for coordinating the movement of goods, materials, and equipment within our warehouse and to external locations. This role requires strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Schedule Transportation: Coordinate the scheduling of transportation conveyances to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.
  • Prepare Shipping Documents: Prepare bills of lading, invoices, and other shipping documents to ensure accurate and compliant shipping.
  • Assemble and Inspect Containers: Assemble containers and crates, and inspect incoming goods against invoices or other documents to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Maintain Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date internal record-keeping systems to track inventory, shipments, and other relevant data.
  • Route Goods: Route goods to appropriate storage areas, and ensure that all goods are properly labeled and tracked.
  • Pack and Unpack Goods: Pack goods to be shipped, and unpack goods received to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Affix Shipping Information: Affix identifying information and shipping instructions on shipments to ensure accurate and compliant delivery.
  • Oversee Loading and Unloading: Oversee the loading and unloading of goods to ensure safe and efficient handling.
Requirements:
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: Experience an asset, or equivalent experience.
  • Computer and Technology Knowledge: Proficient in database software, spreadsheet, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS Windows.
  • Equipment and Machinery Experience: Experience with dollies and hand trucks, industrial lift trucks and fork-lifts, and pallet lifters.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, with attention to detail, and handling heavy loads.
  • Weight Handling: Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, dependable, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, initiative, judgement, organized, reliability, team player, and work term: permanent, work language: English, hours: 40 hours per week.
