About the Role

Aveva is a global leader in industrial software, and we're seeking a Principal Cloud Operations Developer to join our Research and Development function. As part of our global Cloud DevOps team, you'll combine software development and cloud operations to provide continuous integration and delivery of cloud-enabled products and solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deploy and continuously monitor cloud solutions to ensure customer requirements and SLAs are met.
  • Improve the security posture of Aveva's Cloud solutions and lead improvements to the deployment process and monitoring and reporting capabilities.
  • Support and guide development teams, creating best practice templates and processes.
  • Work closely with development and portfolio colleagues to bring new solutions to the cloud, following a standard framework to ensure operational security, stability, and scalability.
Requirements
  • Hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure as code development, with the ability to lead architecture and technology evaluations and decisions.
  • Strong enterprise software development experience, preferably with C#.NET.
  • Expertise in PowerShell, Bash, and/or Node JS scripting.
  • Knowledge of API development, REST, microservices, and serverless architectures.
  • Knowledge and experience in operational support, software development, and deployment methodologies and principles.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Web application development experience.
  • Experience/expertise in authentication and authorization protocols such as OpenID Connect.
  • Experience/expertise in DNS, TLS, and network architecture.
  • Experience in web application security principles and practices, or penetration testing.
  • Certifications in Azure and/or AWS.
  • Hands-on experience working within an Information Security accredited framework, e.g., ISO27001, 27017/18.
