We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Tutor in the Classroom. As a Tutor, you will play a vital role in supporting students who require additional academic assistance.

Job Summary:

The Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board is committed to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students. As a Tutor, you will work closely with students, teachers, and other support staff to ensure that students receive the academic support they need to succeed.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring to students who require additional academic support
  • Work with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans
  • Assist students with literacy and numeracy skills, including reading, writing, and math
  • Use technology to enhance the learning experience and support student engagement
  • Communicate regularly with teachers and parents to ensure that students are receiving the support they need
Requirements:
  • Postsecondary education in a relevant field (e.g. education, psychology, sociology)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Knowledge of Catholic Social Teaching and the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board's mission and values
