Mechanical Equipment Specialist

AtkinsRéalis is a leading nuclear engineering group in Canada, providing a wide range of services to the nuclear industry. We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Equipment Engineer to join our team.
Job Summary:We are looking for a skilled and self-motivated engineer to work on complex projects, providing mechanical and equipment engineering support. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, process systems, and nuclear power plant equipment.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide technical support for the preparation of technical deliverables, including technical specifications, test procedures, and commissioning plans.
- Conduct technical, conceptual, and detail design meetings, and perform conceptual and detail design activities for mechanical systems.
- Coordinate large-scale projects, ensuring timely completion and meeting commercial and technical requirements.
- Support manufacturing, assembly, testing, and commissioning tasks, and define project work scope.
- Perform pre-order and post-order engineering support, including consultation and review of engineering quotation request packages and purchase requisitions.
- Engineering degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Nuclear, or Engineering Science.
- Professional Engineer (PEng) in Ontario.
- 10+ years of experience in Mechanical Design of industrial machines, automation equipment, and automated-tooling design, and/or in Equipment Engineering.
- Strong understanding of process systems, mechanics of machines, mechanics of materials, material selection, and fundamentals of machine component design.
- Experience with equipment sizing, selection, and troubleshooting of issues.
- Knowledge of nuclear pressure boundary Codes and Standards, including CSA N285.1 codes, ASME Section VIII, and other nuclear-power-plant applicable standards or regulatory guides.
