Job Description

The Government of Saskatchewan is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Quality Assurance Specialist, Group Home Standards. This position is part of the Child and Family Programs division, which is responsible for ensuring quality services are provided to all children receiving residential care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct on-site operational program reviews of children's services residential programs to ensure compliance with established provincial standards of care for residential services.
  • Develop detailed written reports that include recommendations and strategies for change, based on evaluations.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with various stakeholders, including Ministry leadership, community-based organizations, and First Nation's board members and band council members.
  • Monitor compliance with recommendations and conduct follow-up assessments to analyze progress towards meeting recommendations.
  • Provide support, direction, and training to residential program managers and residential staff.
  • Present review data to Ministry leadership and external stakeholders upon completion of operational program reviews.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field of study (e.g., Social Work, Human Justice, etc.).
  • Knowledge of the Child and Family Services Act, The Residential Services Act, and The Residential-Service Facilities Regulations.
  • Knowledge of the policies and standards contained in the Ministry's Children's Services: Residential Policy Manual.
  • Knowledge of the policies, practices, and standards contained in the Ministry's Children's Services and Child Protection Manuals.
  • Knowledge of children's residential service delivery framework.
  • Knowledge and respect for First Nation's cultural values and beliefs.
  • Knowledge of conflict resolution theories and principles.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a similar role or with a related organization.
  • Knowledge of government policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
