Job Summary

The City of Belleville is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aquatics Program Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Community Services department, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of aquatic programs, ensuring the safety and well-being of participants, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development and Implementation: Design, develop, and implement aquatic programs that meet the needs of our community, including swim lessons, lifeguarding, and water safety education.
  • Staff Supervision and Training: Supervise and train lifeguards, instructors, and other aquatic staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality programs and services.
  • Safety and Risk Management: Ensure the safety and well-being of participants and staff by implementing and enforcing safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and responding to emergencies.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to participants, parents, and other stakeholders, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Administrative Tasks: Complete administrative tasks such as maintaining records, preparing reports, and updating paperwork as required.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field (e.g. recreation, education, or a related field) an asset.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in aquatic program management, lifeguarding, or a related field; experience in staff supervision and training an asset.
  • Certifications: National Lifeguard Certification, Standard First Aid and CPR 'C' Certification, and other relevant certifications required.
Assets
  • Experience with Recreation Software: Experience with recreation software (e.g. Xplor Recreation) an asset.
  • Municipal Recreation Experience: Experience working in municipal recreation an asset.
