Library Assistant

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Library Technician to join our team at the Toronto Catholic District School Board. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, maintaining a well-organized library environment, and supporting the educational goals of our students.
Key Responsibilities- Assist students and staff in locating and accessing library resources, including books, articles, and online databases.
- Develop and maintain a system for organizing and cataloging library materials, ensuring that they are easily accessible and up-to-date.
- Provide technical support for library equipment and software, including scanners, printers, and online resources.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to develop and implement library programs and services that support the curriculum.
- Monitor and maintain the library's collection, including weeding out outdated or damaged materials and recommending new titles for purchase.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for library use, including circulation and borrowing procedures.
- Provide training and support to students and staff on the use of library resources and equipment.
- Diploma in Library and Information Technology or a related field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and community members.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to customer service and teamwork.
- Knowledge of library software and technology, including online databases and digital resources.
