Project Overview
The Woodfibre LNG Project is a significant undertaking located approximately 7 km west-southwest of Squamish, British Columbia. This project involves the construction and operation of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility on the former Woodfibre pulp mill site, with a storage capacity of 250,000 m3 and production of approximately 2.1 million tons per year of LNG.

Woodfibre Management Ltd. is a privately held Canadian company based in Vancouver and a subsidiary of Pacific Energy Corporation Limited. The company is involved in the development of the Woodfibre LNG Project.

Job Summary
The Legal Counsel will be an integral part of Woodfibre LNG's dynamic team. This position reports to the Vice President, Legal, and is part of a small, cross-functional team serving the diverse needs of the Woodfibre LNG project and Pacific Canbriam. The Legal Counsel will be based in Vancouver or Calgary offices on a permanent basis.

Key Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will bring strong work ethic, excellent drafting skills, confident stakeholder management skills, sound judgment, and a pragmatic, effective, and creative approach to the in-house legal role. Key responsibilities include handling a broad range of legal matters that companies face in the energy industry, prioritizing legal and commercial issues, and working collaboratively with stakeholders to develop practical and risk-balanced solutions.

Requirements
The ideal candidate should have broad and deep experience in the development or regulation of natural resource projects in Canada. This includes experience in regulatory matters at the federal, provincial, municipal, and First Nations levels, environmental and regulatory compliance, procurement, contract negotiation, drafting, review, processing, and management, and business development.

Requirements for the Position
Required experience includes at least 7+ years in commercial and natural resource related law in British Columbia or Alberta, a Canadian law degree, and current membership (or willingness to obtain membership) in the law society of British Columbia or Alberta. Only qualified candidates with work authorizations in Canada will be contacted.
