About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team at AKM DOORS & MOULDINGS LTD. As a Machinist, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining machine tools to produce high-quality parts and components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compute dimensions and tolerances of machine parts using precision measuring instruments
  • Measure and lay out work pieces in preparation for assembly
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables to ensure accurate production
  • Repair and maintain machine tools and parts to ensure optimal performance
  • Set up and adjust production machinery and tools to meet quality and production standards
  • Fabricate and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance
  • Maintain and calibrate precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy
  • Document and report any deviations from specifications and tolerances
  • Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments
  • Operate conventional and computer-controlled machine tools to produce high-quality parts
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
  • Steel-toed safety boots and other personal protective equipment required

This is a physically demanding role that requires attention to detail and the ability to work independently. The successful candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet the physical demands of the role.
