Job Title: Senior Infection Prevention and Control Consultant

In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values of Island Health, patient and staff safety is a top priority. As a key member of the Infection Prevention and Control team, you will work collaboratively to develop, implement, and evaluate organizational quality systems.

Reporting to the Director, Infection Prevention and Control, you will provide leadership in the development of policies and procedures related to Infection Prevention and Control. You will work across the organization, utilizing capacity building strategies to enhance the skills and abilities of staff.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Infection Prevention and Control services, techniques, principles, and practices. You will have excellent systems-thinking, critical analysis, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Additionally, you will have the ability to lead in the support, development, and education of Island Health policies and procedures related to Infection Prevention and Control.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement organizational quality systems.
  2. Provide leadership in the development of policies and procedures related to Infection Prevention and Control.
  3. Work collaboratively with staff to enhance skills and abilities.
  4. Lead in the support, development, and education of Island Health policies and procedures related to Infection Prevention and Control.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related health discipline.
  • Five (5) years' recent related infection prevention & control experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Membership/certification with a relevant registering association and post-basic education in infection prevention and control or epidemiology.
