Responsibilities

As an Electric Motor Systems Technician, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that ensure the optimal performance of electrical and mechanical equipment. Your duties will include:

  • Conducting tests and monitoring the electrical and mechanical conditions of various machinery.
  • Diagnosing and fixing issues with electric motors, transformers, switchgear, generators, and other electro-mechanical devices.
  • Utilizing machining tools to fabricate or refurbish components as needed.
  • Replacing or refurbishing shafts, bearings, commutators, and other critical parts.
  • Welding or brazing components to ensure structural integrity.
  • Providing instruction and guidance to apprentices in the field.
  • Winding, assembling, and installing different types of coils.
  • Performing static or dynamic balancing of armatures or rotors to enhance functionality.
  • Executing on-site servicing and repairs to maintain equipment reliability.
  • Testing repaired machinery to verify proper operation and performance.
