Position Overview

The Institute for Performance and Learning is seeking a Full-Time Permanent Junior Electrical Engineer (E.I.T.) to join our dynamic team.

As a key player in our organization, you will contribute to the management and enhancement of electrical transmission and distribution systems, emphasizing safety, dependability, and innovative solutions. Our team is dedicated to maintaining electrical infrastructure, managing customer connections, and planning for the future of our electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist in the development of engineering standards and processes.
  2. Ensure timely project deliverables by effectively communicating priorities and expectations.
  3. Adhere to and educate others on relevant policies, standards, and regulations.
  4. Collaborate with the Engineering Standards Manager to establish and implement electrical distribution standards.
  5. Support the creation and upkeep of specifications for materials, equipment, and apparatus.
  6. Engage with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate project success.
  7. Innovate and document engineering solutions tailored to customer needs.
  8. Contribute to the continuous improvement of standards and procedures.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  2. Registered or eligible for registration with APEGA as an Engineer in Training (E.I.T).
  3. Experience or knowledge in electrical distribution systems is advantageous.
  4. Familiarity with the Alberta Electricity Utility Code (AEUC) and CSA standards is a plus.
