About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Estimator to join our team at Next Power Inc. as a key member of our project delivery team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed estimates of labour and material costs for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company standards.
  • Develop and submit pre-qualification submissions to present to clients, highlighting our company's capabilities and expertise.
  • Analyze blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements and develop comprehensive estimates.
  • Prepare master format estimates (Class A) and elemental format estimates (Classes B, C, D) for various construction projects.
  • Conduct economic feasibility studies and provide preliminary estimates for proposed projects, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Project cash flow and financing requirements to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
  • Utilize quantity take-off procedures to accurately estimate material and labour costs.
  • Analyze tenders and recommend awards to ensure the best value for our company.
  • Establish and maintain cost monitoring and reporting systems to track project expenditures and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Monitor and adjust contract expenditures to ensure project delivery within budget and schedule.
Requirements
  • Basic security clearance is required for this role.
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field is preferred.
  • Participation in government or community programs that support newcomers, refugees, youth, veterans, Indigenous people, and visible minorities is an asset.
