The Senior IT Business Analyst will be responsible for gathering and managing requirements for Telesat's business systems. This role involves close collaboration with business leaders, project managers, technical leads, vendor architects, and subject matter experts to develop and oversee both functional and non-functional requirements for various software systems across the organization.
The Senior IT Business Analyst will engage with stakeholders to extract business and system requirements, crafting a system specification that aligns with these needs, and will work alongside implementation teams to ensure that the delivered system adheres to the specifications and fulfills the requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Collect and evaluate business requirements from diverse stakeholders, including managers, users, and IT teams.
- Document and analyze business processes, workflows, and system requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement information systems solutions.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses to assess potential solutions and recommend the most effective strategies.
- Define and document system specifications, encompassing user interface requirements, data models, and functional specifications.
- Assist or lead the development and execution of test plans, ensuring the quality and accuracy of implemented solutions.
- Provide support and training to end-users to ensure successful adoption and optimal utilization of implemented systems.
- Monitor system performance and conduct regular reviews to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Stay informed on industry trends and technological advancements to propose innovative solutions that enhance business processes.
- Work with project managers and stakeholders to ensure timely and budget-compliant project delivery.
- 9+ years of experience in a similar capacity.
- Extensive experience in supporting or leading the design, development, testing, and implementation within the Telecom BSS domain.
- Proficient in Jira, Confluence, and MS Office tools.
- Experience with Netcracker or enterprise BSS software is advantageous.
- Experience collaborating within cross-functional technical teams.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills when engaging with clients, internal and external stakeholders, senior management, and staff.
- Adept at communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals.
- Experience working with small, high-performing teams.
- A collaborative team player with a self-driven attitude.
- Demonstrated flexibility, open-mindedness, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in leading meetings and facilitating group consensus.
- Experience as a business analyst or agile product owner for large-scale enterprise application development and/or customer web application development.
- Bilingual in English and French is a plus.
- Operate with minimal supervision.
- Make decisions and recommendations requiring analysis and interpretation within established procedures.
- Generally comfortable working conditions.
- Moderate visual concentration when using video display terminals.
- Willingness to accept minimal travel to national and international locations.
- Occasional overtime may be required.
