Position Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior LDAR Technician to enhance our field operations. This role is pivotal in the emission management sector, particularly for those with a background in upstream processes and repair methodologies.

As a Senior LDAR Technician, you will be integral to our field mission management team, conducting Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) surveys to ensure compliance across various regions. Your expertise in oil and gas operations will be essential in identifying and troubleshooting leaks and venting issues, providing actionable recommendations for repairs.

Qualifications
  • Essential: Trade or Certificate in Instrumentation, Power Engineering Certificate, or a related construction trade.
  • Preferred Experience: Background in leak detection, oil and gas processing, or petrochemical facilities.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of AER Directive 060, MOE PNG036, and BC DPR Emission Regulations.
  • Physical Requirements: Capability to work in various weather conditions and navigate work sites, including climbing ladders and stairs.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and other relevant software applications.
  • Soft Skills: Strong work ethic, self-motivation, teamwork, decision-making, integrity, and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
  • Leak Detection Surveys: Utilize Optical Gas Imaging (OGI) cameras and quantitative equipment to conduct onsite LDAR surveys, identifying emissions from equipment and piping systems.
  • Compliance Testing: Execute testing and reporting of Compressor Seal Vents (CSV) to ensure regulatory adherence.
  • Equipment Inventory: Monitor pneumatic instruments, pumps, compressors, dehydrators, and storage tanks.
  • SOPs Development: Contribute to the creation and refinement of VPS Emissions Standard Operating Procedures and Leak Repair Programs.
  • Leak Repairs: Conduct safe repairs on identified leaks, following Vertex and regulatory standards.
  • Data Management: Supervise emissions survey results, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Project Execution: Complete LDAR projects within established timelines, ensuring thorough monitoring and reporting.
  • Communication: Provide daily updates and maintain clear communication with site personnel, project managers, and clients.
  • Safety Awareness: Identify safety hazards and utilize appropriate safety equipment.
  • Training and Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior team members to uphold Vertex standards.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records and perform necessary administrative tasks.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside field personnel, client representatives, and management to ensure project success and client satisfaction.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay informed on industry trends and innovations to enhance service delivery.
