Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Liability Claims Adjuster to enhance our Auto and General Liability operations. This position requires a solid understanding of auto property damage and liability claims, providing an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth of our Canadian division.
As a Liability Claims Adjuster, you will manage a diverse portfolio of claims, including those from major corporations, with an initial focus on automobile and general liability matters. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting thorough analysis and investigation of claims to determine coverage and resolution.
- Setting and reviewing reserves for claims, ensuring they are adequate and appropriate.
- Identifying trends and issues within claims to communicate effectively with management and other stakeholders.
- Actively participating in negotiations, mediations, and market meetings to facilitate claim resolutions.
- Engaging with brokers and risk managers to support claims marketing efforts.
- Overseeing claims managed by independent adjusters to uphold Liberty Mutual's quality standards.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- 2-3 years of relevant claims experience, particularly in auto and general liability.
- Preference will be given to candidates with a CIP (Chartered Insurance Professional) designation or those pursuing it.
- Strong knowledge of claims handling practices and techniques.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Intermediate analytical and negotiation abilities.
- Willingness to travel approximately 20% within the region.
