Senior Materials Scientist

Location:

Role Overview:
In the role of Senior Materials Scientist at Svante, you will engage in comprehensive laboratory research, focusing on the synthesis of monomers, operation of laboratory instruments, and meticulous data analysis. A Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely related discipline is required, along with substantial experience in organic and polymer synthesis. Familiarity with WHMIS safety protocols and the capability to thrive in a wet lab setting are essential.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Develop and characterize porous materials tailored for carbon capture technologies.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of scientific data and compile detailed reports and presentations.
  • Scale organic sorbent synthesis from laboratory to larger production scales.
  • Ensure the maintenance of laboratory equipment and adherence to safety regulations.
Required Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in Chemistry or a related field.
  • Proven experience in organic and polymer synthesis and characterization.
  • Strong knowledge of materials science, particularly regarding porous materials.
  • Proficiency in laboratory methodologies and safety practices.
