At NL Health Services, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join our team at the James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre in Gander.
Job Summary:
This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner to work in the Emergency Department, providing comprehensive and holistic care to clients. The successful candidate will work in consultation and collaboration with the Emergency Room Physicians/Chief of Emergency Medicine, and will be responsible for assessment, diagnosis, treatment, evaluation, and follow-up of clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide emergency nursing care to clients, including health promotion, injury and illness treatment and prevention, supportive, curative, and rehabilitative care.
- Work in consultation and collaboration with the Emergency Room Physicians/Chief of Emergency Medicine.
- Assess, diagnose, treat, evaluate, and follow-up on clients in the Emergency Department.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans for clients.
- Collaborate with other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team to provide comprehensive care.
Requirements:
- Graduation from a Nurse Practitioner program approved by Central Health.
- Current Nurse Practitioner License and registration with the Association of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador.
- Current BLS certification for health care providers from the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
- Must have completed or be willing to complete next available course of ACLS, PALS, TNCC and NRP.
- Demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities, problem-solving skills, organizational skills as well as oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to practice both independently and in collaboration with other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Consistent demonstration of the core values of NL Health Services: Innovation, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence (I CARE).
- A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
- A satisfactory certificate of conduct from the RCMP or local police authority.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Emergency Nursing.
- CNA certification in Emergency.
Working Conditions:
75 hours bi-weekly (Shift work may be required)
Salary: NS-35 ($
