Job Overview:
The High-Risk Client Assessment Program is comprised of dedicated teams of AML experts focused on performing enhanced due diligence for high-risk clients. The Senior Investigator in Financial Crime Risk Management reports directly to the Group Manager of AML Investigations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute comprehensive EDD initial and periodic assessments/AML investigations specifically targeting high-risk clients.
- Provide assistance to the Group Manager as required.
- Conduct thorough EDD assessments/AML investigations on intricate cases and projects, ensuring robust controls are implemented to mitigate risks and comply with regulatory standards.
CLIENT FOCUS
- Perform complex enhanced due diligence initial and periodic assessments of high-risk clients.
- Ensure timely regulatory reporting while adhering to compliance requirements.
- Utilize methodologies to gather, preserve, and analyze evidence effectively.
- Evaluate and prioritize cases and conduct investigations on assigned files.
- Collaborate effectively with counterparts in other financial institutions and law enforcement agencies.
- Identify and communicate procedural gaps to relevant business units.
STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
- Participate in forums and working groups to facilitate timely information exchange.
- Lead initiatives for large or complex projects.
- Assess the effectiveness of processes/services and suggest improvements.
TEAM CONTRIBUTION
- Actively engage as a team member, fostering a positive work environment.
- Stay informed on emerging trends and developments to enhance business knowledge.
- Inspire, motivate, and cultivate relationships with internal and external partners.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Undergraduate degree or relevant professional certifications are essential.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required.
- In-depth knowledge of Canadian AML legislation and compliance requirements.
- Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.
