Job Title: Carpenter

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at K1ST INC.

Job Summary:

The Carpenter will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining buildings, bridges, and other structures made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Prepare layouts and measurements to ensure conformance to building codes
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials to create structures
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
  • Supervise and train other workers as needed
  • Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in various settings
Work Environment:

The Carpenter will work in a variety of settings, including construction sites, factories, and residential areas. The work environment will be noisy, dusty, and physically demanding.

Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1-2 years of experience in carpentry or a related field
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education in carpentry or a related field
  • Experience working with heavy machinery and power tools
  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
