Position Summary:

We are seeking a Nuclear Licensing Technical Manager for a full-time role. This position will oversee technical management related to licensing for a new Nuclear Power Plant project within a collaborative organizational structure. The role will report to the Director of Fuel, Physics, and Safety Engineering and will be involved in a major project under the guidance of the Technical Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage technical aspects of teams executing both commercial and internal work packages during the design and construction phases of the project.
  • Approve technical documentation produced by team members, ensuring alignment with quality, cost, and schedule expectations.
  • Identify and eliminate obstacles affecting project deliverables, collaborating with staff to develop solutions and enhancements.
  • Provide expert technical guidance to team members and management as needed.
  • Participate in the development of commercial proposals, ensuring the technical accuracy of submissions related to the project.
  • Anticipate resource needs for assigned tasks, including skills and timelines, while interfacing with clients to deliver engineering solutions that meet specifications.
  • Collaborate with marketing and other departments to foster and enhance client relationships.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Required Qualifications:
    • A minimum of 10 years of experience in licensing within a nuclear project context, including leadership of engineering teams.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of the Codes and Standards applicable to Nuclear Power Plant licensing in Canada, with familiarity with US and EU standards being advantageous.
    • In-depth understanding of Canadian nuclear licensing regulations.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • An engineering degree in a relevant discipline.
    • Registration as a Professional Engineer in Ontario, authorized to endorse engineering documents.
    • Experience in managing or conducting multidisciplinary work with significant interfacing across various engineering disciplines.
    • Previous experience in a licensed nuclear facility in Canada is highly desirable.
    • Willingness to travel as necessary to meet project demands.
