We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Warehouse Supervisor to join our Pet Valu team. As a key member of our distribution center, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our warehouse, ensuring efficient and accurate processing of inventory, and maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direction and guidance to warehouse staff, including selectors, reach truck operators, and shipper-receivers, to ensure efficient and accurate processing of inventory.
  • Monitor and maintain a safe and healthy work environment, adhering to Occupational Health and Safety Act regulations.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance employee skills and performance.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including productivity reports, load discrepancy reports, and inventory reconciliation.
  • Ensure excellent customer service, addressing store needs and ensuring timely delivery of merchandise.
  • Conduct cycle counts and reconcile inventory discrepancies as required.
  • Implement and maintain infestation control programs to prevent pest infestations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, adhering to housekeeping standards.
  • Ensure security of merchandise and property by adhering to established policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory role, preferably in a warehouse or distribution environment.
  • Lift truck and Health and Safety training and certification, or willingness to recertify.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify opportunities for improvement and implement changes.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectively with internal and external clients.
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in computerized inventory systems.
