Electromechanical Technician

As an Electromechanical Technician, your role will involve executing performance and qualification assessments to military standards following established testing protocols. With the accumulation of on-the-job experience and product knowledge, you may occasionally engage in field service tasks, including installation, maintenance, and repair.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Installation and configuration of naval production equipment into testing rigs and fixtures.
  • Conducting operational and functional loading of test articles.
  • Validating test data obtained through various testing methodologies.
  • Configuring and operating data acquisition systems to fulfill testing requirements.
  • Performing routine preventative maintenance on testing apparatus.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the work environment.
  • Documenting standard operating procedures.
  • Implementing LEAN initiatives to enhance efficiency.
  • Utilizing forklifts and cranes for handling substantial test components.
  • Complying with OSHA safety regulations.
  • Ensuring all tasks are executed in accordance with the Quality Management System (QMS).

Qualifications:

  • Trained and experienced in safely connecting and operating equipment with voltages up to 600VAC 3ø and in handling hydraulic systems operating at 5000 psi.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, electronic, and complex industrial hydraulic schematics.
  • Prior experience in testing and troubleshooting industrial machinery.
  • Familiarity with LEAN principles and methodologies.
  • Possession of a diploma or certificate from an accredited technical institution.
  • A robust technical foundation in hydraulics and electrical/electronic controls, along with hands-on experience with such equipment.
  • Experience with Environmental Stress Screening.
  • Practical knowledge of Microsoft Office and LABView data acquisition (DAQ) software.
  • Previous experience in customer interactions.
  • Eligibility to meet the requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CPG) and a Canadian government security clearance.
