Job OverviewAs a vital community figure, the Community Postal Leader will oversee the operations of the postal service, reporting directly to the Superintendent/Local Area Manager. This role is essential in advocating and marketing postal services to both the public and local businesses. The Community Postal Leader will embody the values of Canada Post, ensuring a customer-centric approach while managing multiple responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities- Engage with the local community regarding postal services and offerings.
- Promote and sell postal products to the public and businesses.
- Oversee the post office operations to ensure compliance with retail hours and delivery standards.
- Manage postal revenue and maintain the integrity of postal assets.
- Keep accurate records and generate necessary reports.
- Supervise and train staff, evaluating their performance regularly.
- Assist in the efficient management of mail delivery routes.
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience in business administration.
- Proven experience in leading and managing teams.
- Experience in customer service within a retail or service environment, including handling sales and cash transactions.
- Knowledge of postal regulations and procedures.
- Physically capable of lifting mail containers up to 50 lbs, pushing or pulling boxes, sorting mail, and standing for extended periods.
Priority consideration will be given to transfer requests from current employees within the organization. Candidates must be able to manage the post office effectively and meet the required service hours.
As part of the hiring process, selected candidates will undergo a security screening.
