Job Summary
The Registered Practical Nurse is a key member of the healthcare team at Brightshores, responsible for providing high-quality patient care and promoting health and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans
- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications and treatments
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
Requirements
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario or eligibility
- Ability and willingness to learn basic arrhythmia interpretation
- Willingness and ability to work in Emergency as required
- Current certification in BCLS and willingness to obtain
- Leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills
- Assessment and interviewing skills
- Ability and willingness to escort patients via ambulance services when required
- Ability and willingness to work in a team environment and contribute to continuous quality improvement
- Ability and willingness to work all shifts
- Commitment to continuous professional development and continuing education
- Basic computer knowledge
- Participation in staff meetings and unit-specific projects
- Communication and collaboration skills with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
- Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records
- Adherence to Brightshores' CARE Behaviours and LEAD Competencies
Preferred Qualifications
- Physical Assessment Course
- Palliative Care Experience
- Two years recent medical surgical experience
