We are seeking a highly skilled Electromechanical Test Lab Engineer to join our team at RGBSI. As a key member of our workforce management and staffing division, you will be responsible for working with customers to define test requests, obtaining buy-in from local management for cost, timing, material, and headcount requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct corrosion vehicle teardowns and e-coat vehicle dissections.
  • Instruct a team of technicians and co-op students in the teardown and dissection process, documenting issues and concerns.
  • Design and use various hydraulic and mechanical testing equipment to meet customer requests.
  • Collect and document extensive film thickness readings, metal loss readings, and laser scanning of components as required.
  • Communicate proper information to affected product engineers.
  • Coordinate and ship specimens and samples to various product engineers and suppliers.
  • Work with external suppliers to lead the dissections of various components, track budgets, and generate purchase orders.
Requirements
  • Minimum + years of experience on the effects of corrosion on various metal alloys/compositions.
  • Knowledge of vehicle body, chassis, and suspension systems.
  • Competent with the Microsoft Office Suite of products, including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and VBA.
  • Strong time management, leadership, planning, and follow-up skills.
  • Excellent written and oral skills.
  • Team Center and NX knowledge would be an asset.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada with the ability to travel to the USA.
Preferred Requirements
  • Previous experience in paint and corrosion evaluation is desirable.
  • Engineering experience within the automotive industry, testing experience preferred.
  • Will consider new graduates with related co-op experience.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment.
  • Good communication and leadership skills are required to coordinate and instruct bargaining unit mechanics.
Education
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Automotive/Material Engineering required from an accredited university.
