Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Attendant, Canine Care Specialist to join our team at the CNIB Foundation. As a key member of our Canine Care team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and attention to the dogs and puppies in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide daily care and attention to dogs, including feeding, exercising, and grooming.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for the dogs, including cleaning and disinfecting kennels and facilities.
  • Assist with the handling and care of dogs, including administering medications and providing basic veterinary care.
  • Monitor the behavior and health of the dogs, and report any concerns to the supervisor.
  • Collaborate with the Canine Care team to ensure the highest level of care and attention is provided to the dogs.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; education in animal care or a related field an asset.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with dogs, preferably in a kennel or animal care setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse team.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
  • Current Ontario driver's license required.
