Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Infrastructure Engineering Manager to lead our team in delivering capital projects for Halifax Water. The successful candidate will have a strong background in municipal engineering, excellent leadership and communication skills, and the ability to manage complex projects and teams.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Project Management: Oversee the delivery of capital projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  2. Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of engineers, technologists, and consultants, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.
  3. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including Halifax Regional Municipality, consultants, contractors, and community groups.
  4. Business Development: Contribute to the development of business plans and operating budgets, ensuring alignment with corporate strategic goals.
  5. Technical Expertise: Provide technical support and expert advice to other business units and departments, staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
Requirements
  1. Education and Experience: Post-secondary degree in Engineering (civil, municipal, environmental, or equivalent) with Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) designation, and 5-7 years of progressively responsible related engineering experience.
  2. Certifications and Licenses: Eligibility for membership with Engineers Nova Scotia, and willingness to undertake and maintain safety training, including First Aid, Globally Harmonized System (GHS), and additional safety training as identified.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Leadership and Management: Proven ability to lead and manage teams, with a strong focus on employee development and engagement.
  2. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
  3. Business Acumen: Strong understanding of business principles and practices, with the ability to contribute to business planning and budgeting.
