Job Summary

The Government of Alberta is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Scheduling/Monitoring Specialist to join its Capital Planning and Programming team. This is a key role that requires strong leadership and analytical skills to support the development of innovative and timely strategies and solutions to complex transportation investment needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Program Management team to ensure successful delivery of outcomes in accordance with business and operational plans.
  • Analyze and interpret data related to in-year program forecasts and expenditures to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and usefulness.
  • Monitor in-year approved Construction Program budget to ensure program activities align with financial, business, legislative, policy, and procedural requirements.
  • Provide timely and accurate information to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of processes and make recommendations for improved approaches, including technology solutions that enhance program management.
  • Prepare and provide year-end forecasts, expenses, and variances, project contractual commitments, and budget-related information on a monthly basis to the Finance Branch and Executives.
