Child Care Cook

We are seeking a skilled Child Care Cook to join our team at the City of Ottawa. As a Child Care Cook, you will be responsible for planning and preparing nutritious meals for children in our care.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan and prepare meals that meet the dietary needs of children, including special dietary requirements and medically prescribed restrictions.
- Manage the kitchen budget and environment to ensure a safe and healthy food service.
- Work collaboratively with our team to provide excellent customer service and ensure a positive experience for children and families.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest nutrition and food safety guidelines to ensure the highest quality food service.
- Completion of Grade 10
- Minimum of 6 months of experience cooking for large groups
- Previous experience cooking specifically for children (aged 18 months to 5 years) is an asset
- Knowledge of Canada's Food Guide and HACCP standards for food handling and kitchen management
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
